It's pretty simple. I'm assuming most of us here are college students, so what's the skinny? I'm at Boston University :)

I go to the Ghent University. It's one of the largest of Belgium, the country I live in, it's bigger then the Brussels one.
I'm realy excited to see where all members come from. I guess most people will be from the United States. Maybe I should make a gamble... Which continent are most members from?
1. United States
2. Europe
3. Asia
4. Australia
5. AfricaI wonder how good my 'gamble' will be :P

I currently attend Chandler-Gilbert Community College. I plan to transfer to either Arizona State University or San Jose State University of California in the near future.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Because you study something new or just moving to Arizona/California in the near future?
My gamble is going to be perfectly fine! 2x US, 1x Europe. All going well this far. :-)Posted 2 years ago # -
I go to the University of Central Florida. Kinda wish I could go someplace else though...

@elkaye:

America (3x)
Europe (1x)
Asia (0x)
Australia (0x)
Africa (0x)Do you guys want to keep the stats running or should I quit it? It's fun to see where all people of the community come from! :P

For the most part anyone can go to UCF, which makes it very overcrowded school (there's close to 50,000 students here). Because they let a lot of students in, it's hard to get needed classes. UCF is considered a 4-year university, but a lot of students that go here full-time know that they won't graduate in the typical 4-year time frame.
Despite all the negatives, UCF is at a good location (it's a 30 minute drive from my home), I am learning here, and there are several strong engineering programs here so I will try to tolerate the negatives for as long as I can.
Oh, and keep the stats going, but you forgot South America. I'd love to travel there once my studies are done, or maybe during a summer break.

Are you trying to transfer out of UCF then? And yeah, let's keep the stats, but maybe lets count them up at the end of the contest period? There's need to make a new post every time someone else comments, right?

I'm not going to add South America or Canada, it's just America to me :P
It's complex enough now, seems I'm the only non US-resident, I feel guilty some way...Posted 2 years ago # -
Don't worry Devenox, I am here to save the day. I go to the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. I suppose you could put that under Australia, but don't let any New Zealanders catch you doing it again!
Posted 2 years ago # -
Thanks for saving me :P
But serieus, doesn't it feel ... different? That's funny, the United Kingdom has also a village names Canterbury. I went to it three years ago. I heard New Zealand is a beautifull country! Most islands are beautifull, maybe I go one day to New Zealand or Australia!!Stats this far:
America (6x)
Europe (1x)
Australia (1x)

Hahaha, no worries. Yeah you should come visit NZ sometime, it is a very scenic country. Also, I have a friend who lives in Canterbury in the UK as well, I honestly thought he was lying when he told me .

I was defentely not joking, jonno :P
I realy want to go to New Zealand or Australia. I wonder if Wellington is the place to be or the more 'forgotten', small towns.
Is it easy to get across the country by road or boat?Posted 2 years ago # -
I wonder if we'll get anyone from Asia/Africa. I know that China has a large internet using population but I'm not sure if they'll wonder to this site.

I don't know, most people are US residents, easy to write and speak english. I 'm not so sure if you know this, but writing in a language you don't speak since your birth isn't alway easy. I'm glad I made it this far.
You probably can see, that I'm not 100% english, but I learned English when I was a kid. So, let's say you can understand me.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Lol, of course I know that it's difficult to write in another language :P I'm trilingual myself and have issues writing in some of the other languages I speak!
Yeah, your English is pretty good :) Did you learn it exclusively in school? Do you speak Belgian?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Haha, Belgian does not exist my friend. But you couldn't know that anyway. Dutch is my language, though, it's not exactly the same as in the Netherlands. All the words are the same, but the pronunciation is a bit different. I think you can compare it with American vs British English. Basically everything is the same, but pronunciation is different.
I learned from watching movies without Dutch subs, listening to music, talking English for a week, went to London a few times, etc.
However, I'm aware I still make lots of faults. But the more you use it (speaking and writing) the better it become. Can you give me some tips to improve my English?
What language do you speak Bogdan (English not including)?

I'm no longer a student btw.

I go to University of California Irvine, God help me. Never go to this school unless a social life isn't all that important to you. The entire surrounding area is commercial and industrial; no clubs, no bars, no museums, no music theaters, nothing. The only thing to do is to go to Newport Beach, and even then you need a car.
The only thing this place is good for is a quality education, which is fine, but it comes at the cost of a lot of fun. I'm jealous of people at UC Santa Barbara or UC San Francisco.

That does kinda stink.
How big is the school though?
I am in a similar situation with Clemson University, we are in the middle of nowhere, closest place to have fun would be 35-40 miles away. If we want a city its 120 miles to Atlanta, 130 to Charlotte.

You have an apartment close to school or you're on the (rather big) campus? Apartments are expensive...
Stats this far:
America (5x) -> I made five, because JJ is also from America
Europe (1x)
Asia (1x)
Australia (0x)
Africa (0x)Posted 2 years ago # -
Campus is pretty large. I live in an off-campus apartment right across the street, so transportation ain't nothin but a thang.
Wow, Vanquished. That sounds even worse than here. My condolences.
