Oh,and what's happening in Uganda is this:
In the 80s(I believe around 1986 or so), a man by the name of Joseph Kony created the Lord's Resistance Army to combat against the Museveni government. Kony's supposed purpose for creating the army was to uphold the Ten Commandements, and even told his soldiers that if they rubbed oil on themselves, bullets would by the grace of God,miss or not hurt them.
These are lies,of course, and Kony went even further and began taking children from their homes or the streets in order to become child soldiers. He and his soldiers made them kill their families, and to escape from his army was a death sentence.Girls were raped and left impregnated or tortured/killed, and in the Gulu area of Northern Uganda, children travel long distances to sleep under the secure shelter of a veranda with guards.Upwards of 20,000 innocent children have been forced to be puppets of this asshole.
There have been multiple attempts to sign a truce, and in February 2008(last I heard)a permanent cease fire was signed, but I believe that Kony has been pretty evasive and might not have been present or might still be in hiding.
Organizations like Invisible Children, founded by a group of college students who traveled to Uganda and were shocked by what they saw, distribute viewing material for those interested in the conflict.Over a million people are in IDP camps, and I am surprised that it is not mentioned as much in the news as it was a couple years ago(Oprah etc.)
