Hey Everyone,
Just thought I'd add to the site a review of the apartments where I live near Clemson University. The apartment where I live is called the Reserve at Clemson, all in all its a good place to live, the rent is very cheap $329/mo per person (4 person apt) and you do get a lot of space, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, the amenities are quite good. Everything is included except electricity, which is very acceptable since energy costs in South Carolina are very cheap compared to places like New England or CA.
The apartment is fully furnished which is great, every year they give the new tenants a new couch and a new chair (ours have nice leather upholstery). Finally, each apartment has their own porch, big enough for four people to sit around a table and do whatever they want. The tv connection we get is superb, for some reason we get free HD and I'm not complaining, we just went out and bought a 61 inch 1080p DLP tv and even on that beast the connection looks good. The internet however... is awful. The internet is provided by a company called Pavlov Media (which im assuming is not a real ISP, but one made for apts like this) the Download speed we get here is 1.2mbps the upload is basically non-existant at .3mbps. Online gaming is impossible, even opening web pages is a struggle. If you are interested in peace and quiet 24/7 this place isn't for you, I haven't noticed loud noises coming from other apartments but know there is noise because I'm the one playing the music real loud 50% of the time.
Finally, the staff is very nice, though they tend to completely useless, they are all college kids that don't know much about anything, nor does it seem they care, at least the maintenance guys are good.
In the end, I would definitely recommend the reserve, theres plenty of parking, and all the amenities included at a really cheap rate, I would just advise tacking on an extra 12 bucks a month a person to purchase some decent Cable internet from Northland cable.
Enjoy!
