Swordfish
I think it was a very well put together movie, and it has big stars, and a great plot line.
All three Lord of the Rings movies were absolutely amazing! (in 720p HD)
Some good ones are coming soon too:
- New Moon
- Sherlock Holmes
- Alice in Wonderland (with J. Depp!)
- ...
Ahhh Devenox,Devenox,Devenox
You have fallen under the spell of the Twilighters? For shame my fellow CollegeTimer...
Actually, I shouldn't ask you for your favorite movies and then berate your choices
Why don't you just ask me which of my children I love more? If I had kids.
I generally love mind-f*ck movies, like Donnie Darko (and not the bastard sin against God that is S. Darko), Fight Club, and Vanilla Sky.
Others:
-V for Vendetta
-The Producers
-Dark Knight
-the Ace Venturas
-Happy Gilmore
It's so hard to choose, so I'll stop there.
Adam Sandler's old movies were amazing, I'm just sad that he's getting more into drama or dramedy:(
I actually really enjoyed Inglourious Basterds enough to consider that a top one as well.I love the whole B list movie concept and really long movies, and that movie fits the bill.
Was S.Darko from the sister's perspective? I've only seen Donni Darko, and that was good but I can only see it once before it gets old.
Yeah, him and Jim Carrey. They should just stick to their tried-and-true formula of Ace Ventura and Billy Madison. That's why people started to love them in the first place.
S. Darko just came out this year. It doesn't feature Jake Gylenhaal, it's not even by the same director, and I heard it's just a crude imitation of Donnie Darko from the sister's perspective after the events of Donnie Darko. I'm considering suffering through it just so I can write a legitimate review warning people to stay far, far away from it.
@Tinct
Dark Knight is indeed an A movie too!
Anyone knows some good upcoming movies? I found 'The Wolfman' yesterday. Very nice atmosphere around the movie, but it's still a long time when it will be released.
I like all action movies. :)
I did rather enjoy Dark Knight, V for Vendetta was good too. Haven't seen "Up" yet though! Looking forward to it.
Oh, the previews for The Wolfman scared me! It's not what I expected at all.
I can't wait to see 'Precious' in November. It's about this inner city teen who has two kids and a low self esteem until she meets a teacher who sees more in her.I cried just watching the trailer:)
Up was depressing.
Have any of you seen the movie equilibrium?
I love it.
Up was great because the kids never quite got some parts the way the parents did, so it was enjoyable for the kids but carried a whole other meaning for the adults.
What's equilibrium about?
I LOVED Up. It had me laughing so hard I was in tears at one point. Yeah, it was definitely a sad movie, but it had a happy ending, so I was okay with it. Plus, it's hard to find a movie that makes you laugh like that anymore. I saw it twice in 24 hours.
I also liked all of the significance and symbolism. Very deep for a Pixar movie. And the concept itself is just out there and totally original, Pixar's trademark in movie plots.
Im getting kinda sick of how deep the pixar movies are now becoming, wall-e was the start, what with there hidden anti fat people, anti garbage message, they have become to influenced by steve jobs own views.
I mean, yeah they are always good movies, but it gets a little thick after a while.
Equilibrium is a movie with Christian Bale as the main character, its kind of like the book Fahrenheit 451, its about a civilization in the near future (our civilization) where books and any sort of personality are discouraged and prevented. Christian Bale is the best at his job, which is seeking out and killing sense-offenders.
I can't really say much more, but the movie goes in a whole new direction, and is simply amazing.
I would absolutely highly recommend it.
