And you might think its really easy, but when you're in front of an enormous crowd and you start to improv stuff...it might get a little bit more difficult than meets the eye....but then again we compared him to eric clapton hahaha

I can when you are making the absurd and false claim that John Mayer is the Best Modern Guitarist.Although you compared him to Eric Clapton, you never mentioned his greatness specifically within his own genre, and even then he's still not great.And improv in...what?He played the same crap notes over again.And it's not that hard to play in front of crowds for good artists, especially ones that play better and faster than Mayer.Now you're making excuses to compensate for his less than great skills, so obviously he isn't that great then.If you're a true artist, and one as practiced as Mayer, you shouldn't be getting nervous,but getting pumped up by the crowd.C'mon, he's comfortable enough with the crowd that he's showing them his orgasm face.You'd think he could do better then.Did you even hear him reacting with the crowd and yelling back at them? Give me a break.How can the skills of a guitarist be separated by a genre?

"Try playing this the way he does!" Ummm,that's not the argument.That's a poor technique to distract me from the video that's showing him singing and not really showcasing his guitar "skills".
But since you posted that particular video,he's still not impressing me.Neither his singing nor his guitar playing put him as our Best Modern Guitarist.

Unregisteredoh well....some people you just can't convince :) I still say he is pretty good....at least in his genre....outside is genre I agree that there are a lot of other guitarists that own...each in their own style...but in his genre, I'm pretty sure John Mayer can take the cake!

Just Do This Thing- Try Even Comparing Him With Steve Vai OR Joe Satriani ... In His Performance , I Could See A Guitarist Who's Trying To Play So Fast With The Sweep Picking Technique And I Could not Get Any Kind Of a Emotion In That SOng ... Well Dude, You Must Have Atleast Heard Of "Eric Clapton" Or "Jimi Hendrix ", coz if u have, then i bet you would take your words back ... They Probably Might Be The Slowest Guitarists, But What Makes Them Difference Is Their Uniqueness , originality And An Emotional Touch To Their Guitar Playing ...

If John Mayer sounds magical to you, then your definition of originality and emotion are perverse and horrific.You brought in guitarists that I never compared to.These are more modern artists than Jimi Hendrix that I brought up, and I was comparing them to Meyer, not Clapton.If your idea of modern is Jimi Hendrix,well....
It is an affront to music to ever put John Mayer up on a pedestal.And are you so limited in your musical tastes that you can only recognize Malmsteen? John Mayer isn't just "slow", he's also not some talented bigshot as you'd like him to be.And you are also making the jump that because a guitarist can play fast that he is somehow devoid of any emotion.Watch the videos again,maybe you'll see that there is something more to the songs than just speed.
I'll concede that we have different musical tastes, but to say that John Mayer is the best modern guitarist? Way off the mark.
