Where's your favorite place to travel and why?

Swiss and France (Provence) because in summer it's very good weather there and Swiss because of the beautifull mountains, waterfalls and the typical towns in the high mountains: old houses, small streets, magnificent view. One of the most beautiful places in Europe I think.
The South of France is gorgeous! I remember visiting Avignon and Nice for part of a summer, and the smell of lavender brings me back. And Nice was a blast;the swimming was amazing. All the little jellyfish and the boardwalk like area.
You must be kidding, I went last your too to Avignon, Orange to be precise, but that's just few km away. I was also at the sea, got burned that day because it was that hot! :P
Did you went to the Camargue? It's know for their wild white horses though we have spot a few, it was amazing.
Ah, no, but one of my friends lived right near there, and I thought it was so funny because the postcard she sent me had a cowboy looking figure on it! I guess I always picture that as a North American character. Did you go on the bridge that extends halfway across the river?I don't remember the name, it was a few years ago.I loved how the area where the palace was was enclosed and there were so many shops and the like inside. Are you French?
Haha, I didn't get burned but I hated the rocks on the beach. That was my first time in something other than sand.
It's a really simple name :P. It's a bridge in Avignon, translate bridge to french and voila! It's called: Pont d'Avignon.
I was also on that bridge, you have visited the little church too, under the bridge.
Haha, well, that certainly jogged my memory. There was a song about it that some people were singing on it. I went to the church right next to the entrance to the Pope's Palace that you have to climb some stairs to get to. What I loved about France were all the street performers. In Avignon this man was singing opera in the courtyard for tips!
The song is very known in Europe, certainly in Western Europe, it's song that was written for children. That's the bridge: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/20/Le_pont_d%27Avignon_depuis_l%27%C3%AEle_de_la_Barthelasse.jpg/800px-Le_pont_d%27Avignon_depuis_l%27%C3%AEle_de_la_Barthelasse.jpg
I went like this?
L'on y danse,
l'on y danse
Sur le pont d' Avignon
L'on y danse tout en rond.
I'm going to have to say Japan. Last visit was with a few friends, we stayed a place in Tokyo that my friend owned. What a fantastic trip, great food, cool tech, and so much to do!
I would have to say Switzerland. Some amazing cliffs, mountains, and waterfalls. Oh, and the fresh air. However, the highlight was seeing the salginatobel (I think I got the spelling right) brdige which was definitely one of the most amazing sites I've ever seen in person. It was a big deal for me because I had done a lot of research on it for a project earlier that year.
I like to go to two places. Italy, and California.
Cali is just relaxin, Italy is simply fantastic.
Two places that aren't very close from each other. Most of you are Americains, right erh? It amuses me that many choose an European country as favorite place. I mean America has lots of more nature then Europe has. You have yellowstone, rocky mountains. Here in Europe you can't drive 20 miles without seeing a single house...
Haha, maybe it's the history?
I am American and have lived in England and Germany as a child, and I think Europe is chosen because it's kind of cool to be in another country and Europe is easy to get to.I would love to visit Morocco/Uganda/Sri Lanka(where my hubby is from)/Australia/Russia/Scotland/Sweden, but I haven't left Europe or the States:)
Alaska and Florida are my favorite places in the US.I guess it didn't sound exciting, though:D
That, and Europe is one of those places where you can go, be in a whole new place, and not feel 100% alienated. That, plus I'm Italian :p.
Do you speak Italian at all?
Haha, Barely. Used to know enough for day to day. Sadly I haven't been to Italy in 5 or 6 years.
LOL, alienated, you have some nice grammar that I can add to my vocabulairy! If everyone is born in Europe but leaves to America, then Europe will be a peaceful place, without humans! I wonder why you (or your parents) left Europe to make your/their world in the States?:P
Not quite my parents. Grand Parents. Parents when they were young.
My Grandparents simply had no work in Italy, they came here to make a life, and they did.
I love travelling in my country India. There are lots of places to travel here.I like Goa myself.
After the second world war? America was something like heaven then, everything was destroyed here! I'm glad I didn't lived in these mad times.
Yeah, my Oma immigrated from Germany when she was in her twenties, but I wonder what it was like growing up in Europe post-World War II. And imagine being the Germans and having lost both wars they engaged in.
Well remember, the nazi's lost both wars. Not really Germany. And I hope people realize that it wasn't all German's war.
My favourite place is Goa.It's in India. :)
I thought the Nazis weren't around until after the first war? Or that's when they started picking it up.And I know that, but with my familial connection to Germany,I put myself in their shoes rather than the Japanese,Italians, etc. But Germany certainly should stand out the most in respect to World War II, besides Japan's Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
My favourite place is Goa which is in India. :)
