   Oh wow, China just admitted that they use death row inmates' organs for transplants...

   Is this something that people usually know but it's never been revealed by the government, or is this a complete shock to everyone?It was to me.

   A little graphic, but I can't necessarily see it as a bad thing. These people are condemned to death, so why let good organs go to waste when there's other people out there who need them?

   I can't imagine how quickly that could lead to bad,though.Would there ever be an incentive to punish more under an already active death penalty system to get organs? I wonder if the prisoners consented as well- they don't say in the article, but maybe their families or themselves signed a waiver?

   I think it's a pretty good idea, as someone stated before, why let good organs go to waste?

   @Karamel: Good point. I can easily see something like this being manipulated by government officials to make money on the human organ black market. In the hands of China, no less, this is a very real possibility. Still, if people need organs, this is perfect for murderers and rapists to contribute to society and a great and cheap way to get those organs. Sounds like a double-edged program.

   Yea, even if the organs are "good" i bet you the Chinese government would have no problem hyping up a crime to make their transplant list get bigger. And to save some money by having one less person in their prisons.

   Oh yeah. The organs would probably be messed up from the electrocution or whatever they inject them with.

   Though I'm sure the Chinese government has no problems finding "cleaner" ways to kill people.

   It's been rumored for quite a while. It's not as "eco-friendly" as many might think because it's (allegedly) had the effect of making the Chinese courts hurry through death penalty convictions and then corrupt officials benefit from the lucrative sales of the organs around the world.

   Not so different from the massive kidney-buying (err... stealing!) companies in Pakistan or Africa.

    This news is not so shocking for me. I believe that China's doing the right thing regarding this matter. Quite a geniu act I must say! XD
